The new uniform roll-out is in about four hours from now and I’d like to give you guys a reference point on what our old uniforms have looked like. Reviewing these iterations of the changes and what we have seen over the past 40 years is it any wonder that Pitt has no “brand” whatsoever.
We have to do this the right way, hopefully tonight,and stick with it even if it means getting less money from the apparel companies.

2. Removing the iconic pant stripe was a mistake.
3. White on white is bad, but Navy helmets are reminiscent of the Naval Academy circa 1994. Only thing worse would be white helmets, so I’m sure we’ll see that combo regularly.
4. Basketball unis need to trim the script similar to the numerals. The soccer uniforms got it right with the trim and the numerals.
Overall, I think the football uniforms took a step backwards.
In other news Herman Munster is working on the 50 yard line Panther or Script. He expects it to take 15 months so stay tuned.

As many here pointed out, the numbers on the football unis are fugly. F’n ugly. What is that? You have a this beautiful cursive script and jack it up with some weird looking half block half curved number??? Awful. I hope they fix those next time. Hope they look better when we’re on the field.
No stripe on the pants was also a mistake.
The basketball unis are the same as last year except for the script. Not terrible but could have done better….
I must admit though… The track unis are pretty sweet

Our LB’s did not just quicken their step cause the # font on their jersey was changed. Our WR’s didn’t actually catch a ball last night when the matte blue helmet walked on stage. Our DB’s did not cover the lightning quick WR’s we will face against OK State, UNC, Miami and Clemson or the big WR’s against pedo state, Marshall and VA Tech.
No, our DT’s didn’t suddenly figure out how to stuff GT’s running game because the Pitt script is back on the jersey and the fans surely aren’t knocking down the ticket office doors buying all the season passes they can get their hands on (my psu co-worker bought a mini-plan from the Pitt ticket office yesterday – not a good sign IMO).
That fashion show was Mrs. Barney’s doing – I like that the script is with all sports – now go win some games.

Some people posting on here cry for change, then when it comes, are NEVER satisfied.
If you expected something different yesterday, you have not been paying any attention. The expectationsc were set and satisfied by Barnes. Unlike with the Stallings hire, he delivered what he promised.
By the wat, you are F_ing blind if you think the whites look like PSU.
All the versions are very unique.
Wipe the tears and move on ladies.

All in all, some teams will look great, others not so much, but who cares? Go win some games!! Steelers changed uni’s about 5 times in the 60’s before they got it right!
But it’s only temporary. You can bet the Numbers will eventually be changed to something a little less “Medieval” or whatever they are… and the Stripes put back on the pants.
Just a matter of time. But until then, I guess we’ll just have to suffer through it.
Did anyone else think the Gymnastic unis look more Royal blue than the others? Maybe it’s the sparkles……
