Hey, at least Virginia didn’t do to Pitt what it did to Syracuse last night. Yeesh, that second half bordered on obscene.
I dunno, should I just talk about spring football practice instead?
Nah.
Well, this game is the last chance for this season to snap the ACC road losing streak. It was somewhat encouraging on Saturday to see Pitt come out with some fire and energy. A noticeable change from the past couple of weeks where Pitt has come out completely flat and unprepared.
Miami hasn’t been very good this year, but they’ve been a bit better then Pitt. Like Pitt, they aren’t particularly deep. The Canes, though, at least have a frontcourt.
It will be interesting after the season ends to see how Head Coach Jeff Capel brings in some frontcourt help. There is no doubt that he is going to be looking at JUCO and grad transfers to get some depth and immediate help inside. Even if Terrell Brown does continue to develop, so much more is needed inside.
The strength will still be in the backcourt going forward, but this year demonstrated — rather painfully — that there has to be some balance.
But no more.
Anyone want to argue that Miami is simply TOO GOOD to put everything bad that happens on the Players and not on Capel and his Staff?
