There’s always a chance. That’s part of the appeal of sports. And of course, this is UVa. The team that kind-of-sort-of is the object lesson in that with their achievement in being the first #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament to lose to a #16 seed. Something that will likely never die (because the rest of the ACC will never, ever let them forget it.).
Still…
I’m not going to be too optimistic. Pitt is still winless in the ACC on the road for over two years. The team has really hit the skids. Especially in the opening minutes of games.
Virginia’s packline defense will clog and congest Pitt’s attempts to drive. That means taking some chances on 3s to try and loosen up the defense. That seems unlikely as Pitt’s 3 point shooting is Jared Wilson-Frame hitting 38% and the rest of the team clocking in at 29%.
This game could (and likely will) get out of hand early.
I may have allowed myself to be conscripted into Girl Scout cookie pick-up duty today. Totally without realizing the conflict with the game. Honest.
So BAD, you’re now playing against the other team’s Equipment Manager?
Seriously.
