Can He Get Eligible by Tonight?

Big, big and needed commit. Adam Bisnowaty out of Fox Chapel. A 3- to 4-star offensive tackle has given his verbal to Pitt.

“I thought this was the best thing for me,” said Bisnowaty, who said he chose Pitt over Florida.  He paid official visits to both schools in the last two weeks.

He had 14 Division I offers, including Penn State, West Virginia, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue and Virginia.

“This is great, going to your to hometown team. Being around good people is really what I was looking for.”

Bisnowaty, 6-foot-6, 275 pounds, is a four-star prospect, according to rivals.com. He said he plans to add weight to his long frame, and he already has discussed a training program with Pitt coaches.

“I’m excited to get going,” Bisnowaty said.

Now Scout.com pegged him as a 3-star recruit and the 46th best OT nationally. All other recruiting sites had him a bit higher. Rivals.com, 24/7 Sports and ESPN.com (insider subs) all pegged him at the 4-star level and a top-30 OT.

Regardless of the star issues, the fact that Bisnowaty held offers from Florida, Michigan, Michigan St and a bunch of others should make it clear that he is an upper-level recruit, and a very important commit for Pitt. To say nothing of the obvious need for help on the O-line.

Wow, that is awesome! OL are tough to predict but his size and tools at this point are a good starting point.

Don’t forget Tom Ricketts is sitting on the shelf for next year, looks like the future Oline is shaping up nicely.

Welcome to the Pitt Family. Shell is going to like the line being assembled for him. HTP!

Good offensive linemen can be great in this scheme, especially when they only need to hold a block for 1.5-2 seconds on passing plays.

Our offense is struggling now, but I see great things in the future. Voytik should work out, add the speedy WRs of this class, and now an OL to help out. We need more, but we are getting a good foundation. Like TX said, though… getting Shell (and/or Mahone) would be icing on the cake!

Shell, Mahone, Garmon or Durden are still out there as backs although Shell is most likely the best fit for this offense. Getting Rippy, Cox and then Hamilton would be the cu de gras. The Bisnowaty commit could open the flood gates. And, a good win tonight can’t hurt recruiting either.

Ricketts is transferring next year. Hes at Penn St. now but I guess he didnt like it.

IF all goes well, Ricketts & Bisnowalty may both be starting next year. I hesitate to put much stock in recruit rankings, but we really need help on the line next year…

Ricketts has already transferred – attending classes and practices.

Actually successfully recruiting highly rated offensive linemen! What a revolutionary idea! The idea that defensive linemen can easily be converted over to offensive linemen never made much sense to me.

win it for old times

Great Win on the field and off today! One or two of the big time RB’s, another high ranking OL and the rest is defense!! It was a total team victory and Pitt should have a lot of confidence going forward! HTP !
