If you feel like talking or commenting on the NCAA Tournament games, go right ahead.

Anyone watching the Memphis game? They’re having a real hard time, up 1 with 11:48 in the 1st half. You can watch it at ncaa.com

Comment by Kevin 03.19.09 @ 11:50 am

I’m watching the games online for the first time (last year I was on dial-up during the tournament). I didn’t realize the games were so lagged online. At one point, the score was 21-17 Memphis on my screen. At the same time, my TV was reporting the score as 26-20. Sure enough, a few minutes later… that was the score. But I’ll take a lag over not being able to watch at all.

Calhoun’s in the hospital and won’t be able to coach Connecticut today. I hope he’s okay.

Comment by JS 03.19.09 @ 12:25 pm

This is an amazing CS Northridge-Memphis game. Sorry to hear about Calhoun as well.

Comment by Kevin 03.19.09 @ 1:02 pm

Memphis thought they were playing at 2:00.. My bracket is happy they finally showed up

Comment by Todd Gack 03.19.09 @ 1:49 pm

Purdue and Northern Iowa both looked like D-II schools to start that game. Just unwatchable. I switched over to Maryland/Cal.

Comment by Jeff 03.19.09 @ 2:58 pm

Maryland seems like the type of team that can do damage if they get a few good matchups.

What’s the “Boss Button” on NCAA.com do?

The NCAA.com coverage of the tournament games has turned me into an immobile, Dorito eating, slob today.

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.19.09 @ 4:02 pm

Oooo there’s a High quality option. You have to install Microsoft Silverlight, its a free download, but its a drastic improvement in quality i think

Comment by Kevin 03.19.09 @ 4:37 pm

in case ur boss comes and ur watching bbball, u should probably just have an actual thing opened and minimize the ncaa mmod

Comment by Tony (Huntsville, AL) 03.19.09 @ 5:16 pm

The HQ is an improvement.

And I have no need for the Boss Button I guess because I made sure I didn’t have to work today.

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.19.09 @ 5:28 pm

Anybody a tad nervous that Georgetown and Notre Dame were eliminated so easily last night?

Comment by steve 03.19.09 @ 5:40 pm

Oops, I meant Providence, not ND

Comment by steve 03.19.09 @ 5:42 pm

Do you think the Panther fans will support Louisville (and vice versa) during Sunday’s games in Dayton?

Comment by DaytonGames 03.19.09 @ 6:42 pm

I hope so, I’m all about 3-4 Big East teams in the final four. That way maybe we can take the ‘arguably’ out before ‘best conference ever’

Comment by Kevin 03.19.09 @ 7:09 pm

I believe the Boss button will take you immediately from the NCAA page to a spreadsheet — it is a one-touch immediate function to use when you see your boss coming to your desk.

Boy, ‘Nova is really out of character — looks like they’re trying too hard — gambling too hard on D, and taking too many quick shots.

Comment by w bill 03.19.09 @ 7:40 pm

Nova looked rusty.

Once they shook that off, they blew American off the court.

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.19.09 @ 8:48 pm

BTW, I always ask people this and haven’t gotten a “yes” yet.

Have you or anyone you know ever known anybody that went to Gonzaga?

Until someone proves it to me, I’m going to think that the school is completely fictitious and was just invented for basketball purposes.

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.19.09 @ 8:52 pm

I’ll tell you who impressed me today: Washington. With Brockman to grab the boards and a bunch of quick guards that can shoot, I really think that they could give Connecticut a tough game. That is, if they can get past Purdue, who likely plays the most unattractive basketball on the planet.

Comment by Aaron 03.19.09 @ 9:06 pm

Jimbo,

One of my friends from high school actually went to Zaga and still lives in Washington. Sorry for any theories I might have squashed…

Comment by Chris S 03.19.09 @ 10:37 pm

Noooooooooo VCU…my shot at a perfect first day is shot to threads in the second-to-last game. Oh well, I’ll take 15 out of 16, keeps me in striking distance.

Comment by merlin 03.19.09 @ 11:20 pm

Do you think CBS may have sold a little too much commercial time? It seems like I just finished watching 2 hours of basketball and 8 hours of commercials.

Comment by Z-boy 03.20.09 @ 12:04 am

I’d just like to thank ‘Nova for waking up last night and deciding not to blow my bracket to Hell. Just, how about a little less drama next round, ok guys?

Comment by Shawn 03.20.09 @ 6:49 am

John Stockton went to Gonzaga. It doesn’t get any more real than John Stockton.
