Hopefully the struggles of the first game were just opening game nerves and working out some kinks. I’m trying to maintain optimism in the first week.

We were at the game and noticed that several players mailed it in on defense most of the game…the usual suspects.
Also, I think the fans can learn from this presser too…if we want a top flight BB (and football) program we need to show up and act like top flight fans.
The adult attendance sucked. Must have been 50 fans in our section…and a good percentage came late and then left with 8 minutes to go…to beat the traffic I guess?
The Zoo attendance was atrocious. Fans want an on campus football stadium…heck only a few hundred mostly apathetic students showed up at an on campus Basketball arena…what makes anyone think they will show up for football if they had such a venue?
I attended a top flight ACC school in the 70’s and 80’s (My wife is the Pitt alum and she has converted me over the last 25 years to be a Pitt fan except when my alma mater is in town lol)and I can say that the fans and students showed up even for the early season blowout games…and showed energy and enthusiasm.
The Zoo last night was awful for the 3rd game in a row. When we got home checked out the late tv game – Gonzaga vs SDSU…a top 20 program and the students showed up and acted like it. They were what the Zoo used to be. Fans can make a difference.…
The Pete used to be special…and once you turn it off it ain’t easy to turn it on. Come on Zoo…make it special again.
