8pm.

Raycom affiliates or ACC NE/WatchESPN.

It’s been quite a while since Pitt beat Louisville. Pitt hasn’t beaten Louisville since the Cards joined the ACC. The Panthers have lost 12 straight to Louisville. The last win came in March 2008. Almost 11 years. Yikes.

Rick Pitino isn’t running things anymore. Louisville is in the midst of a transition of their own. Albeit with Chris Mack, late of Xavier, now running things.

Like Pitt, Louisville is 10-4. Unlike Pitt, they are 1-0 in the ACC and have some very solid wins (Michigan State and Seton Hall). They go about 9 deep in their rotation and gets production from their frontcourt. Their leading scorer and rebounder is sophomore forward, Jordan Nwora.

That said, they aren’t particularly larger than Pitt in overall size. Their overall size is comparable. They play a much slower tempo then Pitt, but are much more efficient in their offense. Defensively they are actually a little worse then Pitt. At least according to the numbers.

Hail!

This team is fun to watch. The foundation is there to be good in the next few years. A few players away but the feeling I have is that we’ll get them rather than it’s too much to wish for. Also will be fun to watch these young ones grow as it appears they are doing. Hail to Pitt!

Clancy – Definitely a fun team to watch and root for. I liked how Capel did a good job of blending being fired with maintaining the calm. The team really collected itself after regulation.

Those free throws though. Hit the stripe and suicides hard this week … please, Jeff. Haha.

I forgot what it’s like to go to a basketball school … Spoiler … it’s fun.

Nick job by Pitt. I am really enjoying this young team. More than that, it’s going to be something watching this team turn into an ACC power over the next several seasons.

TT – this team could also easily go 0-5 in the next 5 games. Life in the ACC. This year is a wash but it will good to see them competitive and fighting. I really like the way Capel handled the end of game emotions. For this year and probably next, I just want to enjoy the growth and know that almost every game is winnable.

Again, still a great hire Heather.
