Spring ’15 Two Deep?

Since we have less than four weeks until the PITT Spring Practices begin let’s start speculating on who we will see as starter and in the two deep for next season. Obviously not etched in stone and pretty much off the top of my head. We’ve been up and down with BB lately so here is a post with no emotion attached… My “stars”: Rori Blair on D and James Conner on O.

Don’t know how I ever missed it, but his
Grandparents started in Pittsburgh?? After all this time, never knew
he had that connection to Pgh.

concerning the LB depth chart … there is an interview new RB Coach Harley on Pantherlair where (based on some tweets) that it will be a LB oriented defense where they will even be making plays in the backfield. Claims Brightwell and McKee are speedy enough to make it happen.

Concerning DL depth – we have 14 scholarship players by my count. With HCPN leading the way for a more aggressive D, I see us using all 14 in an aggressive, rotating manor. The S&C coach needs to wipe these boys into shape – both with weights and wind sprints.

Here is how I see the rotation:

Starters – Blair & Price @ DE and Render & KK Smith @ DT
2nd team – Edwards & Soto @ DE and Jarrett & Moody DT
3rd team – Trahan & Render (splits time at DT & DE) @ DE and Taleni & Herndon @ DT
4th team – Freeze & Conner (when he is off for the next offensive series at RB) @ DE and Dintino & Jarrett or Moody (whoever is in better shape) @ DT
