What Would You Ask Ruben Brown?

Greetings from NYC.

I’m looking over the Nike itinerary and part of the time is a chance for 1-on-1 interviews with the presenters.

As Ruben Brown is presenting the Pitt unis, I now have to figure out what to say to him other than, “Gee, you sure are big.”

Suggestions welcome.

Why can’t Pitt recruit offensive linemen?

being from Buffalo, I – like many other Bills fans – always thought Ruben was overrated.

However he is an extremely likeable guy. He had a radio show for years in Buffalo which was very popular, and he is funny and charitable. I’m sure you’ll enjoy speaking to him. If you are able to plan ahead, get an audio recording and post it on the blog

Questions about sharing a name with a more famous sandwich could be fun…

Ask him if he prefers Pitt Script?
If he envies all the new facilities around Pitt? Fitz House vs Pete; Pitt Stadiums Lockeroom to the duds at Heinz…

You can ask if that going to Pitt in an urban campus gave him an advantage in his Pro Career as a player in name recognition and allowed him to hone his media skills for his career after the Pros.

You could be a downer and ask the moral question if it’s wise to use uniform technology to increase speed in such a violent game at the college level…given the new information on concussions every other month.

Ask him if anyone beat Marino’s record at the Cathedral of Learning?

You can fake Pro Bowls on reputation. You can’t fake 4 All Pro Teams.

I’d like to ask him if he’d like to start helping Pitt recruit. Enjoy NYC, Chas. What a great place…

I’s thank him for his years at PITT, and for being a solidly, loyal alum!

At the end of the day, that’s the best we can ask for.

Ask “Was it as much fun throwing that lady cop downt the staris at “The O” as I think it was?”, then run away.

Comment by Patrick 09.01.10 @ 11:16 am

Hey, those off duty cops at The O might be pricks most of the time when doing private security for them, but they helped me out big time one night when I was working there. Let’s just say I had an egg on my head for two weeks after that night, and it could have been a lot worse for me, if not for them being there. Oh, and Aaron and Darren, the black twins that still work there to this day!

Wait, I thought it was Sean Gilbert that got rowdy at the “O” one night?

Comment by Shawn 09.02.10 @ 9:34 am

Gilbert was there, and I believe fighting with patrons upstairs. But it was Brown that knocked the cop down the stairs.
