Pitt In Preseason Top 25

The ESPN/USA Today college basketball poll was released today, with Pitt coming in at #20. The #1 team in North Carolina, who had more total ballot points than UCLA even though the Bruins had more 1st place votes.

Other Big East teams in the preseason poll are: Georgetown (5), Louisville (6), Marquette (12), and Villanova (25). Syracuse and Connecticut were both high in the “Others Receiving Votes” column. Too bad we won’t see a good opponent play the Panthers until mid-December.

As always, Penn State wasn’t even on the minds of voters.

Come on now Dennis!

Within the mind of the poll voters Penn State Basketball = Pitt Football.

How do like that equation!

woah… pitt is 3-4. That isnt as bad as psu basketball. I mean PSU bball is comparible to a 1AA team…

…if that.

PSU Basketball is equivelent to a high school team. In fact, if you were going to rate a schools athletic program based on a combination of football and basketball, PSU would be near the bottom of the pack.

Wait – Douche loses 1 guy, returns those other clowns from last year (8-8, 4 losses in a row at end of year, can’t beat…wait, what was the name of that school?), and they’re ranked #11? What, their newest goofy “can’t miss” white kid (btw, paulus and mcroberts were both #1 at their positions, how’d that work out?) is good for half a dozen more wins? Hopefully they’re still undefeated when we get them in the Garden – it would be great for us to get a win over a top ten program on national TV, especially one named “Douche.”

And aren’t they the master of scheduling this year – ONE OOC road game the entire year (at lowly temple)? I just hope we make it through the Washington game and OSU game undefeated to set up this matchup with them…

PSU basketball last year they fell to …

Shippensburg, which defeated Penn State in an exhibition game 67-61 victory against the Nittany Lions.

NICE.

If SHIP ever beats Pitt in football I will become a State Penn fan.

Losing to some of the likes of our opponents in recent years has been close. But not quite the level of Shippensburg.

I guess it’s OK to stink in hoops if 100,000 people are willing to haul out their Klan outfits to wear to a night football game. Those hoods get a little hot in the Jordan center I guess. Must explain the lack of attendance there.
