The liveblog may start a couple minutes late. I have the morning shuttle duties for my daughter’s activities. Her soccer practice ends at 11:45. It will be close. I already told the wife that I will quite literally run in the house and straight to the basement (pausing ever so briefly to grab a beer) for the game.

As usual if you need to break it out from the site, you can Click Here.

Otherwise it is below and kicks off noonish.

Great game–Pitt forces OT by making 2 FTs, and then pull away and manage to win…this team is awesome! And Nasir Robinson? 26 points…are you kidding me?

wow!! this team is just incredible, down by 4 with seconds left, they find a way to get into OT and dominate. Just leave me speechless! Before this year, I have to confess, I was a luke warm Jamie Dixon fan. I can honestly say even had they lost this game, I would still be a true believer!

Go Pitt!! 4 more BE wins and sweet 16 here we come! # 4 seed or higher.

I don’t mean to be a homer but that was one of the greatest games of basketball I have ever witnessed. How good is this team>??

Hail to Pitt!!

Great comeback and victory! This team has some major tenacity!

Not surprised by Robinson so much…he was getting heavily recruited and play in the highest classifaction in the state…he got it in him…just the confidence is lacking plus he and brown are small fowards…if Talyor could develop then Dixon can go far because mcghee is awful, lol…great coaching job…decent talent no standouts yet 15-2 in the B.E…G-Town up next then S. Hall and St. Johns

Unreal, every game a new star. We are good enough to comeback against Louisville and some non-calls by the refs. How can they keep exceeding expectations? It sure looked like two top ten teams to me.

Didn’t it seem like our usual “stars” Gibbs, Brown, and Dixon, were more subdued today? Was this because L’Ville played them tougher, and allowed the other cast to have a breakout game? Or, were our leaders just in a funk? (Granted, Gibbs had some great shots toward the end of the game, and certainly in OT.)

No one could have possibly seen Robinson having the game he had, but I’m becoming happier every game with Gary McGhee. He’s obviously put in a lot of work, and while he’s never going to be a star, he’s improved so much. He had a really tough assignment today handling Samuels but he hung in there. And he’s gotten a lot better and moving without the ball and finding easy buckets. Right now he’s playing better than Taylor and he deserves the time he’s getting.

And when he led that fast break… might have been the best thing I’ve seen this season.

Nas says, “suck it, haters”. WOOOOOOO! (that’s a Ric Flair Woo)

what a game! pitt is a great position to win the conference. the team is getting more confident with each win. and i love watching the slash and kick offense. jamie is running the offense through wannamaker and dixon on the wings. completely different than what we have seen before and it is fun to watch. defensively this team is the best that pitt has had in several years.

Comment by omar 01.16.10 @ 3:25 pm

Let’s see. Pitt vs UConn last Wednesday. Pitt vs L’ville todat. ‘Cuse vs WVU today. Villanova vs Georgetown tomorrow. Pitt vs Georgetown next Wednesday, and on and on.

As incredible as it seems, I heard a rumor that some on this board would prefer that Pitt leave all of this action and join the Big 10. Ah, it’s probably like most rumors.

Comment by BigGuy 01.16.10 @ 3:33 pm

Pitt winning games from the foul line. That is surreal.

Comment by Lou 01.16.10 @ 3:40 pm

Big Guy,
noone wants to leave the Big East, but the football pay out BE 1.6 million per team, B11 20 million per team. Talk about paying a guy like Dixon, having the dough to keep top assistants, ect. Those east coast guys will still come to Pitt, where else they gonna go? In a perfect world, The Big 11 goes to 16 teams and picks up some of the traditional rivals and OCC schedules the rest, as you could easily have a tough OCC and coast through most of the sleep-ten.
