it would be interesting to see how many 1-AA and DII champions wouldnt have played in the national championship if it was the BCS bowl format

You have to think that the Big East has long suspected the Big 10 may look their way when they decided to expand and want to have Villanova ready to replace whomever may leave. After what happened with the ACC they would be dumb not to.
