The Cardiac Hill blog is running a “Bracket of Pitt” series that has  ‘all things Pitt” subjects listed much like we see during the college basketball NCAA tournaments.  Here is how they describe what they are going to do:

“The Cardiac Hill Podcast has a new segment; the Bracket of Pitt. It’s a 64-item bracket of everything Pitt. People, places, things, etc., basically if it has anything to do with the University of Pittsburgh, it’s in. I’ll be hosting the tournament primarily with Jim Hammett of Cardiac Hill. We’ll post the first episode here (and on SoundCloud) tomorrow with me & Jim discussing the bracket and you can vote for the matchups @CoreyECohen on Twitter; one vote per person. Each week we’ll put out a new episode discussing your results and advance the bracket accordingly! Let’s make some May Madness here at Cardiac Hill, we can’t wait to debut the #BracketOfPitt!”

This sounds like an original and fun idea and will fill up some of the Pitt sports dead time from now until the football Fall Camp opens up in early August.  Here is what the bracket looks like as a snapshot but click on this link to see the details.

Guess The Pitt Blather didn’t make the cut.

If Sweet Caroline is an 11 seed, Blather should have made the field.

No C.J. Barney’s? Was this list made by 20 year olds who live in some Philly suburb? I reject this and move on.

Yeti,
If they’re not 20 yr. olds from Philly I’m guessing they are 19 yr. olds doing a college project for a Sociology class while taking LSD.
….I’ll probably fill out my brackets for the heck of it (but without the LSD)! :>)
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

correct Yeti – Mr. Rogers?

Jonas Salk a 4th seed. What’s he have to do to get a #1?

I mean he discovered a vaccine for a disease that had killed millions including a US President who died from it only a decade before.

Maybe the dumbest exercise ever. Someone must really be bored.

Nationality Rooms?

Something interesting… Rivals interview with an incoming Freshman who could give Quadree Henderson a run for his money.

Seems totally bought into everything Pitt and Pittsburgh.

And already hates Penn State… well that’s between the lines.

No “streaking the quad”, I guess that stopped with cell phone cameras and twitter.

Football cannot get here fast enough!

I have respect for all the players on the Cardiac Hill bracket but the bars are missing, not even the Luna.

Frank MD,

You are a genius! Somebody, who is not me, should create an Oakland centric bar bracket. Include names from the past and present. Although the present would be a very short list.

I could probably rattle off 25 w/o thinking too hard.

PoD – on your LOI to Pitt it had a clause that read “I __________ agree to publicly hate all things Penn State.” The recruit had to initial the clause. as of late, PSU was crossed out and WVU was put in it’s place. This year WVU crossed out and arrows led you back to PSU.

Where is Tino Sunseri? Where is Todd Graham? Where is Paul Hackett? Those are the heroes of Pitt since I’ve been born.

What about the Sanctuary?

And we won’t even mention Klinky’s… which might be mispelled considering that it didn’t even have a sign… at least one I can remember.

Pitt IT… like this Kid Ffrench. He’s won me over.

gc – C’mon man. Its stuff like this that makes life fun.

That bracket isn’t just Pitt Football but all things related to Pitt and Fred Rodgers did lot of work with the university.

The Nationality Rooms are world famous and people come to PGH specifically to see them.

You just know PSU fans will call Ffrench a liar with this comment:

“What shocked you most in the process?

I didn’t expect to get the Penn State offer, knowing that’s our rival and all. It was so late in the recruitment that I didn’t think any more offers would come in, but they offered me the first day I was really talking to them. I never even saw them. They just contacted me through Twitter and a phone call. They tried to get me to come for a visit but it was too late. Signing Day was coming up and I didn’t really think about it; there was no point in starting the whole process over. I was already committed since junior year.”

Comment by Reed 05.04.16 @ 2:32 pm

Im intrigued by Ffrench as well.
