Spring Game A Few Days Away

Reed has killed it for football coverage this spring. Much, much appreciation.

I’ll be making my first Blue-Gold game in far too long. Going as a fan/parent (bringing the boy with me) for this one. Hopefully I’ll be able to convince the kid to let me stop by for at least one drink before all the other activities.

I had been hoping Pitt would be unveiling and selling (read: taking my money) the new Script Pitt gear this Saturday. Unfortunately, that seems to be a month away.

Pitt’s event to unveil its new script logo, apparel and uniforms will be May 18. Details, such as the location and specific items to be released, are still to be announced.

On the bright side, content in May.

Still going to be a question of attendance despite the projected perfect weather for Saturday. Naturally the NHL scheduled Game 2 of the Rangers-Pens playoff for 3pm at the Con. A mere 2pm after the start of the scrimmage.

Even when the interest in Pitt football is growing, it just feels like a conspiracy by the pro leagues to keep it down. Pass the tinfoil, please.

Let’s not disappoint “Pat from Pittsburgh.”

Wonder if the new uniforms will be introduced at the same time or later in the summer?

My local little league didn’t do me any favors either. Son has a game at 1 & daughter has practice at 1. I was going to take them, maybe next year.

Still think they should have played one more at HighMark Field. Hate to see those yellow seats. I guess they want to get as much practice as possible at Heinz. Think they ought to have Jackie vs Walt as honorary captains. The coach with the most sustained winning of big games and the coach that brought Pitt back from the grave. They both should be honored.

Not to be negative but, Pitt lost 4 out of its last 5 and has a tough start after Villanova. Hopefully the new guy can get the offense humming, because the defense may be very weak up the middle again.

3 of 4 of those losses were to ranked teams. The other loss was to Miami which has Top 20 talent that shows up occasionally.

Realistically, I expect a 2 and 2 start … 3 wins would be fantastic

Sutton looks like a great hire. Looks like Barnes has given Stallings a good budget.

wbb, agree that they were tough opponents, but we were not competitive, especially vs Navy.

a bit of nostalgia. Charles Small was a walk-on PG from Detroit for Pitt back in the early-mid 00s, and was crows darling because he was only 5’6 or so.

Looks like he did OK for himself

The Burgh should be wild today. Trump, Cruz and Chelsea all in town for events. Anti-Trump and Anti-Anti-Trump rallies planned. Pens playoff opener, Buccos at PNC. Mayor Fetterman on the Roberto Clemente.

Got bank robbing plans? Enact them today.

Lynn Swann hired as USC AD; maybe we should have hired Billy Knight

Watch it. UPitt is in town. Part of his master plan to cause chaos.

If Pitt played in the first half the way it did in the second half it would have beaten Miami and UNC both. Pitt also played pretty terrible to really terrible in the first half vs. Cuse, ND, Iowa and Navy. Every one of those games Pitt outscored the opponent in the second half. Maybe except Navy I don’t remember. If Narduzzi is the good coach he appears to be he’ll get Pitt to play 60 minutes instead of 30 or 45. If that happens the schedule should end up being less scary than it looks.
