Let’s Go See Narduzzi in DC

My fellow PITT Fans,

I just registered for a spot at this Washington, DC ‘meet up’ with Narduzzi and staff in DC.  Who else would you like to go, drink beer and ask the hard questions?  Should be a blast and it is free.  This should be a great time and maybe small enough that we can actually bullshit with some PITT people who we can get drunk and pry secrets out of about the program.  Here is the detailed info:

Monday, May 18 – (6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)

Occidental Grill & Seafood – The Willard Atrium & Courtyard, 1475 Pennsylvania Ave, NW Washington, DC 2000045

Metro Rail Line: Blue, Orange, Red, Silver Lines to ” Metro Center Station”.

It is on a Monday night so parking in that area might not be too bad – here are some local garages.  It may be easier is to drive to a Metro Station and take the rail line to “Metro Center Metro Station” and walk the three blocks to the Willard Hotel.  The easiest for us MD PITT fans in the eastern side of MD is to drive to the New Carrollton Station and take the Orange Line straight into Metro Center.

The Occidental Grill and Seafood is one of the nicest restaurant/Bar in DC so business casual or PITT gear is required I guess.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER IS MAY 13;  Call “Sue” at 412-624-4658 ASAP to reserve a spot – you can add one guest name also.

Really looking forward to see some of you there. It is pretty obvious that PITT is opening up the Media Relations checkbook for these Alumni Events and this should be a good on.  Note that in addition to this DC event on May 18th there are others scheduled at:

Wednesday, May 20 –  (7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.)
Xfinity Live – Victory Beer Hall
1100 Pattison Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19148

Tuesday, May 26 – (6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.)
New York Athletic Club – President’s Room
180 Central Park South, New York City 10019
(located on the right just after 7th Avenue)

Tuesday, June 9 – (7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.)
Hyatt Regency Pier 66 – Penthouse/Pier Top
2301 SE 17th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316

Wednesday, June 10  – (7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.)
College Football Hall of Fame – The Quad/Hall of Fame
250 Marietta Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30313

He skipped Charlotte.

And this is the heart of the ACC and where the Conference Championship game is played annually.

Come on Down Nard Dog !

Occidental looks like a power broker hangout, especially the Harry S. Truman Bar.

Wonder if you have to be 32 or 33 to get in ? 🙂

I just RSVP’d via the link. Occidental is a nice place. New Admin is sparing no expense. Anyone have a Pitt tie I can borrow? (j/k)

Can’t wait – I will be there!

I’ve dined there a few times with fellow power brokers 🙂 – its very nice.

A friend of mine saw Marla Maples take a ring off her finger and throw it at Donald Trump in the hotel lobby during a fight. I think she messed his hair up too.

All the Blatherites will wear pink ties so that I know who you all are. I will be tieless.

The other guy must be a Blatherite.

Oh, and don’t forget your pink socks also in case I’m so drunk I’m crawling around on the floor when you get there. I’d hate to miss meeting everyone because I couldn’t lift my head up enough to see past their knees.

Looking forward to hearing how it goes. If it’s worthwhile, I’ll try to attend the June 9th event in Ft. Lauderdale.

pretty cool that the NY/NJ meetup is gonna be in the NY athletic club

I saw Chryst at a few Panther functions, boring, I bet Narduzzi lights up the room, it really seems that the level of enthusiasm is very high versus past coaches.

Emel – so right about The NYAC. I stay there sometimes when visiting NYC and it can be pretty stuffy. When I was there on business I always wore the uniform so no one could complain about what I was wearing. It’s like walking back forty years…

Comment by Reed 05.07.15 @ 4:25 pm

Wonder if Kojak was able to wear his fedora when in the NYAC. ha

Use the valet at The Willard. Parking = done.

Petrino just offered a 13 year old … so maybe these get-togethers should take place at PTA meetings

Comment by wbb 05.08.15 @ 6:15 am

This guy is in it to win it. If Nard Dog can back up all of these “right moves” that he and his staff are doing during these early days, it will add legitimacy to the process immediately. I’m actually considering doing the 4+ hour road trip to Atlanta simply to be in the presence of the guy. That would never have even been a consideration for a HCPC public appearance, even if he was showing up in my own hood!

Narduzzi gets it! H2P!

Screw Charlotte…. Just thrilled to get Florida… close to Miami. Bryant, Blades, Session, Cox, and so many other great ones. Get back to the sunshine state!

Comment by ck 05.08.15 @ 10:01 pm

Occidental is a great bar…have been there several times on trips back to DC!

Enjoy the night, and give a Oregon best to Coach Duzz!

Hail to PITT!
