Sorry. Busy morning. Half-assing it. Just got home.

I find it interesting that ESPN, Bilas and a major spread in this weeks SI are all dedicated to a crisis in college hoops. Of interest though, is that Oklahoma and Iowa State coaches are ex-NBA coaches and believe in giving their players the freedom to create points.

I still am dumbfounded that Sheldon Jeter isn’t part of the offense any more.

I like Jeter, agree with you markp, but he is like the rest of this team…he does not seem to have the ability to create his own shot. Right now, no one other than Young can do that. EVERYONE on this team needs to improve their first step (except maybe Young, who needs to improve his LAST step…make the bunnies!).

Looking back- This team showed itself early, and was looking like an NIT entry as the year began. Once in the ACC season began they had a couple good games at home and had many of us thinkin they were more than what they are. The dust finally has cleared and the fact is that this team wasn’t good enough to make the dance. The excitement of beating ND and UNC doesn’t erase the multiple failures ageainst average and below average teams. We pretty much sucked.

Looking ahead- I think we are going to struggle until we get a legit center. I am skeptical of any of the current forseeable options at the position. We have some developing talent at forward and it is reasonable to expect some improvement at guard next year. I would like our chances better if we return to being a stronger defensive team and am very concerned about our demise in that area.

Spirit, Pitt needs a legit center and a legit PG. JR is no better than he was at the end of his freshman year and will not improve at all in his senior year.

Of course Dixon wil play him for 35 minutes a game next year….bank on it. So you can throw next season in the toilet too…
