Well, the dates are all set. The ACC television is set. The times for many of the non-con games and any accompanying TV coverage are still unknown.

The ACC released its complete schedule with dates and times yesterday (PDF).

Pitt’s ACC opponents were already known, just not the dates. February is going to be brutal (PDF).

Feb2015Brutal

The week before that is a Saturday home game against Louisville on CBS. Pitt’s ACC schedule definitely has a very difficult middle. The start and ends are noticeably weaker. But that middle. Oh, that middle stretch of late-January through the third week of Februrary. It’s very likely that in that 9 game stretch ND and Bryant will be the only unranked teams Pitt faces.

Oh, and completely unrelated, but I need to toss these things out there.

Voodoo Brewery out in Meadville — the official brewery of Pitt Blather — got a nice write-up in the P-G. I dragged the family out there over the summer. The kids loved the milkshakes and the pizzas. Definitely worth finding an excuse to drive up there.

Most importantly, a congratulations to Pauly P on the birth of his daughter and future part of Pitt’s class of 2036. Way to not pass out in the delivery room while your wife was doing all the work.

Geez, they aren’t playing anywhere close to NYC once this year. Kind of a bummer for me.

What’s good from Voodoo? I know they distribute here these days and want to try some stuff.

That’s a rather Big East-centric ACC schedule with home and homes vs. Syracuse, Louisville, and BC. Should’ve given us a home and home with Va Tech to complete the theme.

Good they took my advice and scheduled the Bonnies from Olean, NY.

My other suggestion was moving the city of Pittsburgh to Maui.

And I see that’s been accomplished as well.

So all in all a good day 🙂

Did anyone notice that Pitt will be away for almost an entire month in the pre-season (I’m sure unprecedented) from 11/16 to 12/13? They will play 6 straight games away (3 of them at Maui Classic, 2 of them on opposing team’s court and Duquesne at Consol).

Congrats, Pauly!

Pitt Basketball 2014-15 Record also complete.

Jamie leads Pitt to BEAT UP on inferior opponents through the FIRST HALF of the Season.

The losses start coming in during January when Pitt struggles to win close games against QUALITY OPPONENTS.

Sorry… really wish it wasn’t this way.

Took me awhile to find them, pan all the way down, at the VERY VERY Bottom. Even below the Holes.

WVcc is way too high, should certainly be in the lower half of the grid.

Pittofdreams….

But it really isn’t that way. As state, Indiana, and at least one other team will beat us early in the season. If we get to conference play without a loss then we better be in or cracking the top 25.

That said, lets go Pitt! We have 10 above average players…if even 2 breakout, we can deservedly be back in the top 25. I am cautiously optimistic.

Here is another for football but had to share … this is an excerpt from Wanny’s premiere last night as an CFB in-studio analyst:

Petros to Wannstedt: You recruited Gary Nova, right?
Wanny: “Uh, well, yeah that’s why I’m sitting here with you
