Late Transfer Note

Kept meaning to note that Daeysean Rippy has decided to transfer to Colorado. He may never be heard from again, but it’s a good choice if you want to get out on the field because there just isn’t much talent already in place to stand in front of you. Good luck.

Also, Chavas Rawlins. The one time WVU early enrollee who decided to transfer after realizing he would never get a chance to play QB there, because WVU like every where else really wanted him on defense. While he was apparently desirous of going to Pitt, it didn’t happen. Whether because WVU blocked him or because Pitt also would only take him as a defensive back it isn’t clear.

But he finally found a program that will let him play QB: Duquesne.

Good luck.

Isn’t Shell supposed to announce today?

Get back to me on the Shell saga come 2014. It will be interesting to see if the rumors of him not being a gym rat are true. Fact is, if he doesn’t put in the time over the next year, that he will show up for fall camp 2014 fat and soon to be frustrated by the prevailing issue that states, “put in the time or expect to ride the pine”. Talent alone only gets you so far. I hope for his sake that the wake up bell rings soon for him.

We didn’t have to beat out any MAC schools for him … apparently we didn’t have to beat any school for him

This may be a reason he wasn’t looked at that thoroughly. Big kid though, 6-4, but a bit skinny for his size, although that may be off at the moment (210)

PPGazette also said that he had Pitt, WVU and Kent state offer him.

Rippy in Boulder, oy vey.

My bet is we’ll never hear of him again.

At least he should enjoy the scenery.

I believe Rippy had a cousin who played for Colorado

Rippy does have a family member on was on roster there, Doug Rippy.

Good Luck to Shell. He has a full year to straighten things out, especially his academics.

Blair is 225 now and will easily get up to 250-60 after his redshirt year. I really like this pickup for many reasons one of which he can play both TE and LB if needed in the future.
