Quick! Which division is Pitt in? Atlantic? Coastal? Coastal? Atlantic? Bzzzzp! Time’s up.

The correct answer is… (flips to preview guide)  Coastal. Yes, of course. Coastal. Knew it all the time. Just like I already know who is in what division without question.

Okay, it’s going to take a while. But if I can learn to type Krzyzewski without double-checking I can master this.

Okay, the ACC media made their picks for the Atlantic and Coastal Divisions.

Pitt was placed in a solid fifth in the Coastal Division.

Here are the division predictions.

ACC Championship Votes
1. Clemson 95
2. Florida State 15
T3. Georgia Tech 3
T3. Miami 3
T3. North Carolina 3
6. Virginia Tech 1
Atlantic Division
1. Clemson (102) 815
2. Florida State (18) 731
3. NC State 490
4. Wake Forest 392
5. Maryland 373
6. Syracuse 320
7. Boston College 211
Coastal Division
1. Miami (65) 736
2. Virginia Tech (27) 654
3. North Carolina (22) 649
4. Georgia Tech (6) 522
5. Pitt 313
6. Virginia 230
7. Duke 228

Looks like the media is rather convinced on who will be the top-4 of the Coastal. Just not the order. The Atlantic is a little more clearcut for who are the best teams.

After years of following Big East media days, the biggest shock to me is seeing that there were some 120 media votes for football. Even in the Big East basketball side with 16 teams, I doubt there were 120 media voters.

Guess Pitt has some extra motivation with the whole, “no body believes in us” storyline.

We definitely have an easier division than the Clemson and Florida State one. That’s a good thing.

In other news,
Gus Ferrotte moving back to Pittsburgh.
I didn’t know he was a Ford City grad.
His sons are going to Central Catholic.
Gus wants to get into college coaching… hint, hint.

I remember meeting Ferottes uncle at a gym in Pgh. That was before he bonked his head against the wall.
Tough legacy to overcome.
BTW
Ryan Braun is a lying sack of cow dung. Caught and now, when it no longer matters, admits it.

We’re #5, We’re #5! Thank God we’re not #6, I’d have to wave both hands in the air then. LOL

That douche Aaron Rodgers said Braum was his buddy and said no way was he guilty last year. I cant stand That prima dona and green bay

UPitt – Yet another reason to hate the Brewers. Never thought I could care enough to hate a team from Milwaukee, but after beating the Pirates like 127 times in a row and gloating about it every time while never actually winning anything meaningful, karma has come a-calling. In the words of Bernie Brewer, “I’ll drink to that!”

I’ll say Pitt beats two teams picked to finish ahead of them this year and goes 4-4 in the ACC, based on nothing more than daisy-fresh pre-season optimism. Nobody does mediocrity better!

Iron Duke. LOL. He got away with it for like 2 years. Every time Rodgers does that stupid WWE Wrestling belt shot my blood boils.

Apparently, the criteria for a Green Bay QB these days is (1) strong arm, (2) big ego and (3) totally obnoxious

February 12, 2024 “…this is my integrity, this is my character, and this is my livelihood, and we all have to make sure that we start getting it right” – Ryan Braun … press conference at spring training after beating the rap that he took illegal drugs

What….you were expecting a 1rst place pick?

I see a 5 wins and 7 loss season coming. Which is actually optimistic imo since the last 2 years we were 6-6 (only 1 game difference) and the ACC is better than the BigEast. And last’s years 6-6 was achieved with the weakest Pitt schedule EVER, which is why you know who passing stats were more than ajar for someone of his caliber.

But games against two D2 teams, Temple, USF, Uconn, Rutgers, Cuse and a non-typical Beamer squad will tend to skew things. Just a tad. lol

Wins this year: New Mexico, Old Dominion, Duke, Cuse & UVA

Losses: The Rest

2 of the following 3 could also be losses; Duke, Cuse or UVA.

So 5 & 7 is optimistic !

VeV !

Let the predictions begin. I often wonder why I continue to buy Pitt season tickets when the putcome has already been predetermined by so many prognosticators. But then again, they sell out professional wrestling exhibitions too.

That is why they play the games, and the games can’t begin soon enough for my liking.
