Let’s keep it simple. Here’s what we take away from this game:

It doesn’t show up on Pitt’s March resume as a “bad loss.”

That’s it. It was bad. It was ugly. It was sloppy. It still goes in the books as a win.

The dissecting will come later. For now,  just glad not to be seething over an inexplicable loss.

The shooting for Pitt might of been ugly, but Adams rebounding was beautiful.

Wow, just got home from watching that mess at a local watering hole.

Talk about a bad shooting game, one of the worst shooting games from both teams I’ve seen and that I actually watched the whole game. If it hadn’t have been Pitt, I would have switched channels to watch a Gilligan’s Island rerun.

That game should have been a rout in the first half, we walked into the place with PITT up 11-6 and I’m not kidding you, they didn’t score another point for like 20 minutes in real time maybe 30 minutes. How can you miss so many shots.

And the junk they were throwing up around the hoop, one hand scoop shots, underhand shots just wishing the shot would go in. It was worse than a 10 year old YMCA game. If I was Coach I would have pulled the whole team, and just put a whole new 5 guys in. Yes it was THAT BAD !

I’m just glad SH went totally stone cold in the last 5 minutes and PITT was able to win.

We play like that, and it will be one & done in the BE tourney and the Big Dance.

@Emel – at times it looked like Jamie was checking out the Pep Band to see if there was anyone he could suit up and put in.

I always erase the DVR of a loss, never a win…

until today.

This game is further proof that the Howland/Dixon blueprint works. Bad shooting nights happen; sure some of the blame goes to the players, but most of the shoots were good looks that just didnt’ fall. The defense wasn’t flawless, but was solid. The rebounding was outstanding. And thats what got this team the win. H2P

On the positive side — The starting five outscored the bench scoring by a wide(36/20)margin. Patterson and Adams were dominant on the boards. This game was a tough one to watch though. We’ll take the win and look to our next game… Hail to Pitt!

An ugly win trumps an heroic loss every time.

Can you say let down after thumping Cuse on Saturday. Bunch of 19-20 year old kids… it’s bound to happen

survive and advance, regular season style. god, that was like watching a #2 seed struggle to put away a #15 seed in March. horrible.

It seemed the offense was content just throwing the ball around the perimeter until about 10 seconds left on the shot clock. Then the shots that were created were not good percentage shots. It was just good enough to win.

All that face time on ESPNU and now I get a link to a twitter status. Damn, I feel famous!

Thank God that wasn’t the main game on ESPN…

Lunardi (ESPN) has Pitt as a #6 seed. Up from #8.
Palm has them as a #7. Also up from #8 (and off of Palm’s bubble).
I think this has more to do with how this team has been performing, rather than how others are(or are not).
Glad to see folks like Lunardi and Palm are aware that Pitt is pretty good.
And they are improving.

Steve Adams needs to do dome strength and conditioning training big sis. Cant see Valerie being pushed around in the paint.
