Unexplained Absence

Filed under: Admin — Chas @ 12:31 pm

No, losing to Syracuse did not break my spirit and send me into a week-long bender.

My father-in-law was hospitalized over the weekend. He’s still there, while more tests and observations are made. He’s at that age, where any trip to the hospital holds that dire potential that they find something really bad. Or worse, simply that he never leaves under his own power. My wife has been with him all week. While I handle work, the kids and everything else.

Needless to say, I have not been on the computer very frequently this week.  I’ll try to post soon.

Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

all the best.

Sorry to hear. Hope things turn out for the best.

Whatever happened to the “other contributors” to the site though? Still see the occasional post by Reed, and saw one or two ill-received posts by the Panther Rants people. But that’s it.

Chas – this certainly puts the state of Pitt FB in its proper perspective. Hang in there!

Chas, I know I don’t have to tell you this but your priorities are definitely in order. And as you can see by all the posts to the game thread blog, we can amuse ourselves .. although it was getting kind of stale.

On another note … it looks like Scout.com (PantherDigest) has returned to its former format

God bless him Chas. I know how tough that is, my mother has been in & out of the hospital and nursing homes many times in the last couple years.
Hope everything works out for him and your family.

Family comes first, Chas. Your Pitt family is by your side, too.

Your FIL and family are in my thoughts and prayers, Chas.

Good luck with the situation. In the past 2 years, my wife and I have experienced one parent (my mother) sink shockingly quickly into severe Alzheimer’s, the other (my father) essentially kill himself within 4 months trying to take care of her, then my wife’s mother collapse from a brain aneurysm (she survived after 6 weeks unconsciousness, but can’t walk and has half regular brain capacity), and her father nearly die from back surgery that failed badly. Nightmarish and heart breaking.

Sneak him a beer if you can. Did that for my Dad. The rules? We can bombard you with chemotherapy, but an ounce of alcohol is forbidden!
NOT ON PLANET SFPITT IT ISN’T!
Good luck and prayers for you both.

Our prayers go out to you and yours.
Sorry this is bad timing but I have to complain.
The add for dating older women is going to far. When the picture has ‘for Mother Fu(fuzzy)ers.’ In print so everyone can clearly read it is inappropriate. Just the picture of the women would be fine, we can guess the rest. The bold print no way.
I’ve supported this site with a donation and would love to see you get something for your time, but can we keep it ‘school’ clean. H2P

Chas,
I think it goes without saying that your family comes first. Regardless, thanks for the update. I hope all is well at this time.

Chas – good luck and tell your wife that us Blatherites are thinking of her and her troubles.

Guess this isn’t such a bad time for there to be little to write about. I’ll try to chip in something before the UL game.

Best wishes for you and your family!!

Comment by JAM 05 Pitt 10.11.12 @ 8:32 am

this story lends credence to the thought that Gilbert may be redshirted. Taylor may be backup 5, and Pitt can play small with Patterosn and Taylor on the floor at the same time
