Here’s a puff piece on Steven Adams getting a tour of Pittsburgh.

You gotta love this kid. Hes a hoot on twitter too

Hope he’s here longer than a year. Pitt has desparately missed a big presence in the paint. Seems like a good guy.

First time I’ve heard him speak and I couldn’t be more impressed. Maybe he will stay longer than one year.

I hope this giant white guy can hit the basket from a foot away. I feel like half Gray’s rebounds came from slamming his own shot off the rim from point blank range.

I miss Pittsburgh, haven’t been out to a game in almost three years. Seeing the Newark Bay, Passaic River and Hackensack River confluence everyday just doesn’t have that same effect. Good thing my sister is out there for Pitt’s masters program in occupational therapy. Have a reason to visit other than the VT and Rutgers games.

Yes, here’s to hoping he or and his family want him to get a degree. Wouldn’t that be hitting the jackpot.

Allthough, who amongst us could turn down 10’s of millions of dollars.

Especially when if it is that important to you, you can always go back on get it.

I’m hoping two years. Maybe he does really well his first, but wants to strengthen up one more and hone his skills.

Anything can happen, but, I have to say, I haven’t seen a big man move like a point guard in a long time.

Athleticism!!!

He is half Tongan (Polynesian) so I would not call him a white guy.

What a great kid and a testament to Jamie to bring him to Pitt …Hail To Pitt

My guess 2 yrs

Two years my hope. White guy, polynesian guy, he is a PITT guy.

Steve Adams is , indeed, impressive. I have not seen him play, but what I saw and heard of and from him via the video, he is AWESOME. If Pittsburgh doesn’t take to him, then “da Burg” is in decline. GO STEVE! Go Panthers!! Rev. George in Columbus

Comment by Rev. George Mehaffey 06.08.12 @ 3:46 pm

This kid is legit. He has played against other top highschool players, and either held his own or out shined them.

But with any hype.. you hope he can translate it to big east play. I think he can, since he is far more polished then any recently player coming into pitt.

I have no problems with him staying one year… if he delivers a NC ! 🙂 .. like melo did !

Looks like he needs to get in the weight room and also eat a few more Primanti’s. If he puts 15-20lbs on his frame, he will be a beast inside.

Comment by Pitt it IS 06.08.12 @ 4:46 pm

He will only get better. Barring the unforeseen expansion of his game, he is here at least 2 years.
But for Chrysts’ sake, would Bob Pompadu stop with the “Yinzer” references!! It is to the ears what walking into a bathroom after a Cajun Food Festival is to the sense of smell!

Comment by SFPitt 06.08.12 @ 5:21 pm

This dude is a beast. Hail to Pitt!!!

I’d be surprised if he’s here two years. He’s a first round pick tomorrow. Unless osmething bad happens to him mid-season, he’s going pro. We’re not just talking a Dejuan Blair type of player here. This is kid is beyond that.

whatever happens, its pretty much impossible not to like this kid.

Comment by PantherP 06.08.12 @ 7:14 pm

Maybe we’ll get lucky and the NBA will change their collective bargaining agreement sometime in the next twelve months to say that they won’t draft anyone who’s less than two years out high school.

Fingers crossed!

Comment by Jeff 06.08.12 @ 9:13 pm

Very happy we have him for one year. Saw him in one all star game. Few opponents will drive underneath with him there. Dominant shot blocker and rebounder. Very coordinated for a big man.

The one year slide should be over. Let’s just hope that Big East refs don’t foul him out early and often, he’s very physical.

Seems like a great kid and mature for his age.

Hail to Jamie and Hail to Pitt!

gc–That’s why Jamie might (pure speculation on my part) start Taylor or Gilbert for the first few minutes to let the officials get their early game whistle happiness behind them before Adams enters the game.
