I can’t say this surprised me one bit. I expected a noon start for this game. The mouse monopoly hasn’t decided at this point whether it will be on ESPN or ESPN2.

That depends in part on what/how Iowa looks in their in-state rivalry game with Iowa State this weekend. If they lose to the worst of the Big 12 North, expect this one on ESPN2.

Looks like another game of heading to Pittsburgh before sunrise.

So Chas, do you know anthing about this “SNY” network representing itself as “The Big East Network” and advertising over 100 BE FB and BB games?

The game probably could have been a 3:30 ABC regional broadcast, but since the Pirates play at 7, the game pretty much has to start at noon.

I am so sick of Noon games….it’s bullshit, I rather it wouldn’t be televised! F.ck the Pirates!!! I say again F.ck the Pirates…Pederson better start taking some accountability of these game times, b/c going to a noon game every week is not fun!

HbgFrank, MSG had BE football last year, I think they may have covered a limited # of BE bball games too. Now SNY has the rights to BE football and a good share of bball. Interestingly MSG held on to the TV rights of home St. Johns games, but I don’t know if MSG still has any plans to broadcast BE football. This press release:
link to bigeast.org says that they will air at least 16 BE football games which I think is more than MSG did with their conference games of the week.
Living in NY myself, it looks like a pretty sweet deal, but all of that depends if your local cable provider links up to SNY.

Thanks ChrisA…I did go to the SNY website, but could not find much in terms of future TV Schedules…I was hoping they might be like the Big 10 Network on Dish, which is actually four or five channels, but it does not look to be that big of a deal.

You should be able to get Big10 on regular cable now, I get it through time warner now

Don’t worry. with the new SEC / ESPN deal, we will not be playing noon games anymore. Those games will go to the SEC and we will not be televised.

I hope the game is NOT on ESPN. It seems like nearly every time Pitt is on national TV we look terrible.

WVU and MSU last year were exceptions but DW’s record on TV is not good.

I agree with all of you guys. Here in Iowa…all Hawk home games start at 11:05am! Believe that s&%t! Mid afternoon kickoffs help grease the wheel better I think.
