The logical choice to add to the seven without D-I football (Notre Dame would keep its football independence, but be with the football schools in a split) would be Xavier, first. With two Elite Eight appearances in the last five years, they are head and shoulders above everyone else.

A second team (should they go to nine) would probably be Saint Louis or Dayton (or both if they go to 10).

Charlotte and even Richmond would be ahead of Saint Joseph's in the pecking order because Villanova would NOT want them.

On the football side, it would be a 10-team conference with nine football members (no Notre Dame for football). They'd choose from Memphis, East Carolina or UCF.</description>
