Anyone know where Paul Zeise is these days? I haven’t seen a Q&A since Tuesday, February 12. In fact, since spring drills began, I’ve noticed two articles authored by him (March 19, 24) – both coming in the opening week of practice.

In his final Q&A of the recruiting/offseason, he concludes that “…we'll all be back here discussing practice (before you know it)…So keep the questions rolling in and we'll get started again with Pitt football Q&A's some time around March 20…”
Since then, the bulk of coverage has been provided by Post-Gazette reporters Colin Dunlap -- whose stated “primary focus” is high school ball -- and Gerry Dulac. (Phil Axelrod has weighed in as well.) But again, hardly any material submitted by PZ since camp started.

I’ve had my criticisms for Zeise, but I’m missing him at this point. Has anyone else noticed the conspicuous absence of the team’s “beat writer?”

And on that same note, has anyone seen or heard from Chas? (Haha)

Johnny, love the post. And love the Scottie reference. Of all the things I miss about Pittsburgh, grabbing a dog and talking with that man was one that had slipped my mind. Just the smells from that grill...ahh.

Not surprisingly, another idiot-poster has come onto PB to tell us why we suck, and then ignore a well-written, thoughtful response. This seems to happen about once a week or so, and I'm proud not only of the fact that I've written some of the responses, but that just about EVERYONE has written some of the responses. That's what makes this site the best Pitt-related portal around.

Finally, if the Hoopie ever does check back, just curious....of what are you the champions?

For those who missed it- the entire press conference is now up and running at pittsburghpanthers.com. There's also a pretty sweet highlight reel of Dorsett & McCoy

GREAT post Johnny! However, BC's prose reminded me more of early Jose Saramago than e.e.cummings, though I concede that one could have your point of view. Then again, the hoopie probably just had one too many swigs of the ole shine and forgot about contractions 'n punctuation 'n at.

Haha, thanks mike in tx. I guess the trick was eating hot dogs from Scottie outside of Hillman instead of the Original. Drinking copious amounts of alcohol somehow canceled itself out.

Boy johnny, did you learn to write so eloquently as a result of your Pitt education? All Pitt gave me was a good foundation in binge drinking and enjoying the rudimentary pleasures of late night 'O' fries. My mathmatical and grammar skills were left to be developed elsewhere. Please point me to those outstanding public institutions you speak of where you have obtained your advanced degrees. I need help with my verbal sparring and cognitive abilities if I am to encounter a Hoopie down here in Texas.
