I'll never forget a few years ago during a Seton Hall game at home Krauser was at the line in a relatively close game. A Pitt "fan" waited till the whole arena went silent so Carl could shoot his free throws and yelled out "...KRAUSER, YOU SUCK." The kid is trying to ice a game and a "fan" at home yells you suck. Are you kidding? The guy should have been assaulted. It was probably Kurt.

Rutgers did not "blow out" Pitt. They went on a run to end the game, however they didn't grab a lead until 5 or 6 minutes to go. A "blow out" is what happened at the beginning of the second half at Marquette.

Kurt you are the definition of a hater. Why root for Pitt if you are going to be negative about everything the program has accomplished? Negativity isn't fun for you or for the rest of the fans. There are jerks like you who sit in my section. It takes every ounce of my being to not tell them to "shut the eff up" everytime they yell at a player or at Dixon. I don't because they pay and have the right to do as they please, but I don't understand why they even continue to attend the games. They don't get excited when the team does something great or beats down an opponent. They'll say something like, "...wait till Louisville or Georgetown." It's the same old crap with most Pitt fans and it is irritating as hell.

No, but they lost 3 of their last 5 games both years, and in 06 only went 10-6 in the SEC!

And the year before they won the first NC they lost to a 16-11 (7-9) Miami team at home. And they lost by 13+ twice.

Fields recovery will determine how far we go this year. We'll be fine for next year. Now we get an upperclass 2 guard to fill in for ours that is leaving, and rounds out the rotation. I don't see the big deal here.

And people need to stop baggin on Diggs, the kid got injured early. He'd be getting all of McGhees minutes if not for that. Way to toss an injured kid under the bus. This is like saying Mike Cook didn't work out cause he got injured. Enough already.

Whats the difference between these two teams?

#5 SF 5*
#12 PF 4*
#18 PF 4*
#25 PG 3*
#35 SG 3*

#4 C 5*
#13 PG 4*
#14 SF 4*
#22 SG 4*
#25 PF 4*

The top one is a two time national champion, the bottom one is our team next year. We get the talent other teams get. Its just a matter of time before it all works out in our favor.

One key part of Kurt's argument that has been left out about the Big East this year is that injuries have taken huge tolls. Louisville was pre-season top 10 and had injuries to deal with. Now that they have their players healthy, they are playing very well. Pitt is the opposite. Played well early, but now have the injury problem. I don't see how you can call it lack of talent when a team does as well as Pitt did up through the Georgetown game, but had so many injuries that it couldn't even field a 10 on 10 practice.

And the argument that the Big East isn't as good now as it was in the 80s and 90s is ludicrous. Since 1999 the Big East has won the national championship 3 times. Two for UConn and 1 for Syracuse. Both Syracuse and UConn have produced elite NBA talents, which are why they have had some down time, because their talent has left early for the NBA. The BE has put marquee talent in the NBA the last several years, and will continue to do so. Have you ever heard of a guy named Carmelo Anthony?

And D-Wade wasn't an elite talent until he got to Miami. He was solid at Marquette, but he wasn't highly recruited, and exceeded all expectations on him.

Just messing with you as well paterno. Kurt refuses to punctuate and wants us to follow his ridiculous argument.

The Big East is, by far, the deepest conference in the country. It has a team, Pitt, that beat the conference leader in the ACC on a neutral court. It has a team, Pitt, that ended the non-conference home win streak of a team (Washington) that beat its conference leader (UCLA) at home recently. It has a team, Louisville, that dominated a top-5 SEC team (Kentucky). UCONN just whipped Indiana at home a few weeks ago. Shall I go on. Don't believe the hype. UCONN, Louisville, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Marquette and even lowly Pitt have a chance to advance deep into March depending on the bracket and match-ups. We have just as many contenders as the SEC, ACC, Big 12 or Big 10.

Kurt--The BE is only lacking in top 10 teams. it has a pile of teams within the top 30. Just how few bids do you think the BE will get? IMO, 7 BE teams would get in if today were selection Sunday based on the current Sagarin ratings--
# 9 Georgetown
#14 Marquette
#15 Louisville
#16 Connecticut
#18 Notre Dame
#20 Pittsburgh
#24 West Virginia

watered down BE watch how many bids we get and that will prove it. plus where are the household names, ewing , pearl, mullin, berry, c. smith, j. lane? the great coaches louie carniseca, rollie, j thompson, even donavan pitino and the texas coach got their spurs here in the big east. we don't even have a marquee team in nyc seton hall , sju and rutgers all suck! can you really say any BE team is a legit ncaa contender?? remember when we had 3 out of 4 final 4 ? no, the BE is still a great conference, but no where near what it was in the 80's and 90's. again, I am happy with the type of program as far as little or no bad apples, just a taser an a domestic dispute or 2 compared to some, but unc and duke ucla, usc, and fla seam to be able to attract top recruits that don't make the police blotter on aregular basis. what i guess i am trying to say, in a 5 year period there are probably 150 -200 near consenses top 30 recruits, and you only need 2-3 plus some complimetary players (ricardo greer/issac hawkins/vonteego commings) to win big. the schools i mentioned can't possibly get them all. we do not, and have not had those players under howland or dixon, or they are seriously under performing. i would just like dixon to recruit that one go-to d-wayde type player, and quit screwing around with projects like diggs, kid from texas and the kid with the knee injury, and this new juco kid. remember degroat? to juco player the year we recruited him. there is usually a reason they go to juco.
maybe he is the missing link to postseason play. i would rather got an onterrio lett or someone big, mobile w/ hands to help blair. or dj kennedy, a guy who can attack the rim and is 6'4 with 4 years of elgibility.
