Building 2009

The verbal of Lamar Patterson is a good start for the 2009 recruiting class.

The 6’5” wing, who can play both small forward and shooting guard at the college level, is an excellent outside shooter that can score from all over the floor, and he is very athletic. Others who offered included Penn State, Minnesota, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Miami and Michigan.

Right now, Patterson is a 3-star prospect according to the two primary recruiting sites. I expect that he will increase in “stars” as he gets more exposure.

He has good shooting range and scored 40 points in a game earlier this season. Hoopscoop.com ranks him as the 78th-best player in the Class of 2009, and 23rd among small forwards.

He was selected to participate in the Philly Rbk U camp this summer and made an impression at the U-16 tournaments. Lamar is also the younger brother of former Syracuse QB Perry Patterson.

Looks like a good player, now we need some size so Blair can move to 4 slot.

he will be 4 star by the end of his senior year

Anyone see Gray last night? 10 pts, 6 boards in only 14 minutes, in a close win against the Bucks (Yi and Bogut). Wallace played 34 minutes to get his 4 point and 10 boards…and Noah didn’t even get off the bench.

Comment by Stuart 12.29.07 @ 12:24 pm

Just for reference, Bogut averages 12pts and 9 boards in 33 min a game, and makes 5 million. If Gray keeps this up, he may actually get paid someday…

The line on tonights game started at 4, and its down to 2.5 in some places…i guess no one really thinks we’re going to win, or at least win by a semi-decent margin.

Isn’t this a team we beat by 30 last year?

Comment by Stuart 12.29.07 @ 12:59 pm

Last yr was at home, and Gray is gone.

Comment by alcofan 12.29.07 @ 1:54 pm

Blair is here, and seems to be an adequate replacement. 30 point swing because its away?

Like i said before, we “held” their one kid to 3 points over his average last year (21) and still won by 30.

I could understand a 15 point swing even, but 30? We’re only favored by 2.5 at some places? WTF?

Comment by Stuart 12.29.07 @ 3:05 pm

alco fan:
how much do you think home court is worth? maybe 5pts? And blair is an upgrade over Gray- there is no arguing that. We win handily.
