He'd make the right decisions 4/5 of the time, then that last one, he'd completely blow - and we'd all be standing there saying "Did that just fucking happen? Did he really just do that?" That never happens with Dixon. And that's the reason Wlat would never make it - he's just a few bricks shy of a foundation. I'm the type that takes the shot to win - not to settle for mediocrity. And i'll admit - maybe we're going to end up worse off with Wanny as the coach when all is said and done. But all isn't said and done yet. I'm glad we took the shot no matter what happens. But we'd never know if we didn't. I don't want to be another Southern Miss of the world. If in a few years it becomes evident that Wannstedt's good players and his coaching can't get it done, i'll be the first to ask we show him the door. Dixon maybe isn't the best coach in the country, but he's close. He can - and should - stay at Pitt for as long as he wants. We'll get to a final four with him one day. Miami,OH is tough but you need to quiet that bird early. There is no shame in losing to BYU but if you are a top 10 team, you can't. We can beat Louisville. As I said before in another thread, G'Town/PITT last season is better than G'Town/L'ville this season. Anyone seen any Seton Hall games? I'm not sure what to think about them but they play a tough one tonight. Eugene Harvey should have come to PITT.
