There are very few fans that would be against a return to the script Pitt and colors from Pitt’s better days. There’s been plenty of discussion about it and I don’t care why we’re not wearing it, whether it be something legal or someone just making an executive decision about it — I just want to see a return to those colors.

Are we going to see that soon? Well, there are some seemingly small changes being made according to Sitting Ringside.

The “PANTHERS” across the chest will be replaced with “PITT” and blue pants will return for the first time since 2003, when they were worn against Virginia Tech.

It seems like we’ll never get to the point where we see the same jerseys that we wore against Youngstown State in that throwback game. Thankfully I picked mine up in that auction of the game-used jerseys because we might never see them on a Pitt team regularly for a while.

I thought those blue pants were set to be burned!
The blue on blue is only slightly less revolting than the all gold we came up with last year. I didn’t mind them with the away white jerseys so bad but the blue on blue? Maybe we will wear those snazzy gold shirts with the blue pants, that would look sa-weet!!! (Insert puking sounds here).

The blue pants with white jerseys are by far my favorite and larry legend made them look even better!

Blue on Blue is better than our hideous gold color scheme…

I like this move, with PITT now being on the jerseys. And the white on blue uniforms are hot, they’ve always been my favorite. However, I do not want to see us go back to the old pitt logo and colors.

I want to see the old colors, I don’t care about anything else. I want people to know who we are when we take the court or the field.

Better days? Weren’t those the same uni’s we wore in the 2-9 seasons? Seems those better days were more than overcome by the shit days.

Good point Jon C..from the time we started using them in the 60s to 1996, everyone thinks the script unis represent the best of the best. True from ’76 to ’83 we were dominate, but let’s not forget all of those lean years too.

Bottom line, we could wear all black or pink but without talent and coaching, it ain’t gonna matter.

Go back to old school. 1) all the fans want them 2) we won with them 3) As pathetic as it sounds they will get attention (i am going to break this up in subpoints) a) they get attention because they are oldschool and just have a cool color scheme which makes recruits and anyone watching look again before flipping the channel b) they would sell for pitt fans and non pitt fans just cause the colors are so old school

The problem I have with the current colors is that several other schools are sporting the same look. I liked when Pitt looked like PITT and no one else. Blue and Gold to me is ND not Pitt.

It would be nice to have the same colors as we had on the most common Marino throw-back jersey (light yellow and royal blue). See the link below. This would also give us some connection to the colors at Heinz Field. Basically, the seat color at Heinz Field is the same shade of yellow.

You know what I would like to see? I rush defense that isn’t in the bottom 5 of 115 (or so) teams. I really think the fans would support that.

Yeah…me too…especially if we are in uni’s that look like this:

Isn’t anybody going to comment on the kitty cat that they’re most likely going to put on the helmet? Ok, maybe kitty cat is a bit strong. How about Lynx?
