Late Reactions

Just got back from a little vacation and Spring Break, and I see I’m returning to some interesting items. While I was out, I did hear that WVU hired Huggins but was too busy to give any though to it.

Well, I’m home and ready think. I never liked Huggins too much while he was at Cincy; now that he’s a Mountaineer I really don’t like him. If I had to list five hoops coaches that I strongly dislike, in no particular order, it would probably be something like this:

Calhoun
Boeheim
Huggins
Crean
Pitino

Five Big East guys, huh?

I also saw that the Pitt-Navy game was moved to a Wednesday night. Thankfully, it’s not as much of a problem for me as it is for Chas. Living 15 minutes north of Heinz Field isn’t a bad drive and I don’t have a huge problem with it. Still, I’d rather spend a Saturday afternoon watching the Panthers play rather than a Wednesday night.

I like the idea of high profile, easy-to-hate coaches coming to the Big East. The legendary coaches back in the 80’s made the conference what it was; having Huggy Bear come to the Pete to take abuse will be so much fun for the fans! Reminds me of yelling at Rollie back in the late 80’s…

Unrelated question:
Did a PSU football player hit somebody with his car over the weekend?

Yes, about two weeks ago a PSU player hit a pedestrian and knocked him over the hood of his car – the player/driver was text messaging at the same time he was making a left turn – and no, it wasn’t Morelli (although just by reading what happened that was what I thought).

I believe I also read somewhere that some PSU players crashed a party and got into some trouble.

That top 3 is pretty interchangeable. And that is just as it should be. Ah, hate!

Boeheim?? How can you hate Jimmy? Guy has a great looking wife and is hilarious. Perhaps I love the Big East too much, but I root for UCONN, Syracuse, etc. when they are not playing Pitt.

I would put Boeheim in my 5 FAVORITE coaches along with Jamie Dixon, Howland, Bruce Pearl, and Paul Hewitt.

It’s a little past “crashing a party”. The charges under consideration are two felonies and one misdemeanor, and involve someone being hit with a bottle. It’s not clear that any PSU FB players were involved in the crimes, only that some were present at the scene.
