This is it. VCU upsets Duke 79-77 and sends them home after the first round for the first time since 1996.

As the last game of the night, of course the prior game would run long. Jeez Maynor is a killer. I don’t know how many of you saw what he did to George Mason in the CAA Championship. He scares the hell out of me, assuming Pitt wins.

Tip time is 10:10.

10:14: Looks like this game will be called loosely. That benefits Pitt. So does the score. 13-0 Pitt. 17:05 still to go in the half.

10:32: Well, looks like Wright St. has some fight in them. 21-15 with under 11 minutes. Gray took an extended break. Solid WSU game plan to take their time on offense and then drive when presented the opportunity.

10:39: Call a TO. Pitt just stopped playing team offense. Everyone just started launching, sloppy. Tied at 22.

10:50: Fields has really struggled lately. He seems to be trying to hit the homerun in his passes and shooting too much lately. I don’t know what it is. He just is making reckless passes, way too often.

10:53: Speeding the game up actually helped get Pitt back the lead. Not running and gunning, but getting out ahead of the defense. The bright side, assuming Pitt wins, they won’t be taking VCU lightly.

11:00: 43-30 Pitt at the half. Everybody breathing. Just a little bit of highs and lows in the first half.

11:16: Anyone else notice that Eastern Kentucky has closed to within 5 early in the second half. After leading by 27. Fire Roy Williams.

11:52: Looks like Buffalo has cleared out as the game has remained a blowout throughout the second half. Graves did a fantastic job on making DaShaun Woods a non-factor for most of the game. Ramon had a good game. The cynical view is that, of course he did, he was shooting over guards that weren’t as tall as him and played too far off. Still he hit the open looks — just hope he still does that on Saturday.

12:06: Well, after watching Ramon get stripped twice in 10 seconds, I think he won’t be getting too cocky despite his solid shooting night.

12:07: Jeff Rizk hits 1-2 at the FT line.

Final score. 79-58 Pitt wins.

Now it’s VCU. Start reviewing what worked against Marquette and Louisville in the BET and really emphasize protecting the ball and getting it inside.

I don’t think Aaron Gray will get his usual minutes against VCU, assuming they advance.

Comment by Jeff 03.15.07 @ 9:41 pm

Living in Northern Virginia, I’ve become a Mason fan over the last few years (even before last year’s NCAA Tournament run). Pellot-Rosa and B.A. Walker also scare me.

Comment by Sean 03.15.07 @ 9:42 pm

Yes, VCU is a tough team who we don’t really match up well with. That said, our perimter D is far better than Duke’s and our inside presence if far more formidable. I suspect Dixon will use the zone to a good degree against VCU. How we handle the press will, of course, decide the game.

Comment by Carmen 03.15.07 @ 9:49 pm

If we win tonight i’m not looking forward to bradley…uh, i mean vcu. This can’t be happening again…

Comment by Stuart 03.15.07 @ 9:57 pm

After watching that game, I would rather face Duke than VCU. We match up much better against Duke.

Comment by Jeff 03.15.07 @ 10:02 pm

WTF is CBS thinking? The Zaga-Indiana and BYU-Xavier games were not in HD. You are broadcasting (one of) the most popular sporting events in America and yet you don’t have it in HD?!?

The Duke/VCU game was in HD so Pitt should be too…I hope.

Comment by Dennis 03.15.07 @ 10:03 pm

in case anyone missed it (from deadspin)

Comment by Stuart 03.15.07 @ 10:06 pm

Great friggin start boys. Even a dunk form Gray.

Still no HD though…

Comment by Dennis 03.15.07 @ 10:15 pm

UNC-Eastern Kentucky is on in DC. Is the 13-0 Pitt score correct?

Comment by Sean 03.15.07 @ 10:16 pm

Aaron looks like he isn’t playing around anymore… last see how long that lasts

Comment by Chris 03.15.07 @ 10:16 pm

Great start…encouraging.

Comment by Panthoor 03.15.07 @ 10:16 pm

There appears to be strong Wright State support there (I love the internet feed when they just show the arena without commentary and you hear commentators mumbling and fans chanting and nothing else when the games at commercial).

And wow, we come out kicking ass.

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.15.07 @ 10:16 pm

decent start

Comment by schoe 03.15.07 @ 10:17 pm

Damn … there goes the shutout!!!

Comment by Jeremy 03.15.07 @ 10:20 pm

Shit. They scored.

Comment by Chris 03.15.07 @ 10:23 pm

Hey Dennis. Every game is in HD. KDKA is just too dumb to switch to the HD feed.

Comment by Chris 03.15.07 @ 10:30 pm

We have this game in the bag. Bring on VCU. Sweet sixteen here we come!

Comment by Bushman 03.15.07 @ 10:33 pm

“We have this game in the bag.”

?

Comment by Stuart 03.15.07 @ 10:39 pm

Dixon needs to get Gray involved!!!

Why are we so scared of the full court press?

Comment by Desmondo 03.15.07 @ 10:39 pm

only Pitt could blow this. any other team and this game was over. No killer instinct.

Comment by Rex 03.15.07 @ 10:40 pm

Wow. This is disturbing…

Comment by Dave in Orlando 03.15.07 @ 10:40 pm

sigh

Comment by schoe 03.15.07 @ 10:40 pm

Horrendous shot selection. Gray not getting the ball at all. Throwing the ball away repeatedly. Looking really really bad right now.

Comment by Kevin Yoder 03.15.07 @ 10:41 pm

I don’t know what bag you are talking about. Maybe paper??
Press is killing Pitt, bad decisions and fundamentals…here we go again.

Stupid sloppy basketball…anyone who thinks we can’t lose this game didn’t watch Duke.

Kendall shooting a 3…another brick another bad decision…Wright f’in state about to take the lead and with all the mo….embarrassing is too
small a word…

Comment by Dan 72 03.15.07 @ 10:41 pm

Oh fucking shit!

Who the fuck is Wright State to come down from 13-0 against a top 15 team?!

I’m sick of this bullshit. Pitt’s the only team that gets worse as the year goes on EVERY YEAR!

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.15.07 @ 10:42 pm

we could spot teams 20 and fucking lose. 13-0 and we start celebrating with 37 MINUTES LEFT. Who didn’t see this coming with the 6 seed losing though? Can we turn the ball over more?

Comment by Stuart 03.15.07 @ 10:42 pm

GIVE THE BALL TO GRAY!!!!!!!!
GIVE THE BALL TO GRAY!!!!!!!!
GIVE THE BALL TO GRAY!!!!!!!!

WHAT THE FUDGE!!!!

Comment by Roman 03.15.07 @ 10:43 pm

Thank all you dicktards that jinxed the crap out of us by calling the game over with a good 35 minutes left to play. Remember, this is Pitt everyone.

Comment by Jon C 03.15.07 @ 10:43 pm

i meant they could spot us 20.

Comment by Stuart 03.15.07 @ 10:43 pm

Last 17 possessions. 5 turnovers, 3 of 11 from the field and 1 of 2 from the foul line.

Comment by Kevin Yoder 03.15.07 @ 10:43 pm

What is it, the players or the coach. Why aren’t they going inside? Why do they do this every game? Are they just dumb?

Comment by Carmen 03.15.07 @ 10:43 pm

Stuart, I really hope you aren’t a Pitt fan…Why question whether or not we can beat wright state? common get it together

Comment by Bushman 03.15.07 @ 10:45 pm

Pitt has the worst spacing right now on offense. There are 3-4 guys on the side Gray is on.
Here’s a crazy idea. Run a little two man game and let Wright double and triple team.

Comment by Roman 03.15.07 @ 10:45 pm

This team is so small Gray should be going to the hoop on EVERY possession. Why the hell can’t they get him the ball?

Comment by Kevin Yoder 03.15.07 @ 10:45 pm

John C, Stop being such a pussy and have some fucking confidence

Comment by Bushman 03.15.07 @ 10:46 pm

Holy Shit!! Who are some of these passes to???

Comment by Roman 03.15.07 @ 10:47 pm

Non challant stupidity!!!

Comment by Dan 72 03.15.07 @ 10:50 pm

Bushman, you can’t possibly have been a Pitt fan for very long.

Comment by Jon C 03.15.07 @ 10:51 pm

Gray just got posted up by a 6′6″ guy…

Comment by Dave in Orlando 03.15.07 @ 10:51 pm

What else is new?

Comment by Chris 03.15.07 @ 10:52 pm

Bushman - AHHAHHAHAHHA - you’re the one that called this “in the bag” with 37 minutes left.

Comment by Stuart 03.15.07 @ 10:52 pm

sam looks great….good stuff……

Comment by schoe 03.15.07 @ 10:52 pm

I think the team is a lot better when Kendall isn’t on the floor.

Comment by Bushman 03.15.07 @ 10:53 pm

Is it me, or does it seem like Pitt’s toying with these guys? Like trying to be cute and fancy, yet having it backfire on them?

Just play a good, conservative, Pitt-style basketball game and you’ll blow these scrubs off the court. You don’t need to do anything fancy to beat these guys, all it’s going to do is cause you to make mistakes and keep them in the game!

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.15.07 @ 10:53 pm

awesome..i write that, and he negates a graves 3….i apologize

Comment by schoe 03.15.07 @ 10:53 pm

I am a big Sam Young fan, but can someone on the coaching staff tell him that his pump fake as soon as he catches the ball hasn’t worked since November? Catch the ball and go into a three-point stance.
His upfake fools no one.

Comment by Roman 03.15.07 @ 10:54 pm

This team is small and not very good. Wright State is getting a lot of open looks and throwing up bricks. If Pitt would simply concentrate and take care of the ball they would be killing this very weak team. Wright State couldn’t win 4 games in the Big East. Pitt is playing way too loose and careless.

Comment by Kevin Yoder 03.15.07 @ 10:54 pm

Bushman - as someone else mentioned above, maybe you haven’t seen some of our recent tournaments - I’ll go over it for you: We played Pacific a few years ago, and lost in teh first round. Last year, we played the “easier” Bradley instead of Kansas in the second round and lost that too. And Kent State a few years before these… If you go to ESPN.com they have our record for several of the past years, and the tournament is always at teh end of teh year. So just look for those. College basketball is a neat game, if you pay attention you might be able to follow along.

Comment by Stuart 03.15.07 @ 10:56 pm

all this whining and complaining and we have our 13 pt lead back….CHILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Comment by schoe 03.15.07 @ 10:57 pm

Bushman, we admire your optimism, but all of us veteran Pitt fans have become old and grisled. Some day, you will be us…..unless our teams actually start winning big games.

Comment by Jon C 03.15.07 @ 10:59 pm

Stuart I think you’re right. In fact, next year I hope we make the NIT so you aren’t so damn worried about a division 2 busch league team like wright state….and in case you turned it off cause you were too scared to watch the score is 43-30 pitt

Comment by Bushman 03.15.07 @ 11:00 pm

Nice hustle on the rebound by Biggs. Too bad he’s taking shooting lessons from Gray…

Comment by Kevin Yoder 03.15.07 @ 11:01 pm

where the F is Wright State?

Comment by Rex 03.15.07 @ 11:02 pm

13 point lead. Looks like we were passing to the VCU coach for like 3 minutes during the first half. After blowing the 13 point lead we got it back so let’s chalk it up to a mixture of jitters and cockiness. We should win by 10 at least if we play smart.

Comment by Panthoor 03.15.07 @ 11:03 pm

I just hope we come out of the gates in the 2nd half pounding it inside and doing what got us this lead. ‘Cause we all know that’s no given. That said, great job of righting the ship and executing.

Comment by Carmen 03.15.07 @ 11:04 pm

Rex..Wright State is from Ohio.

Comment by Panthoor 03.15.07 @ 11:04 pm

I love ncaasports.com right now. Interesting commentary from Seton Hall’s Bobby Gonzalez and SJU’s Norm Roberts.

Comment by Dave in Orlando 03.15.07 @ 11:05 pm

Nothing comes easy for this team. No excuse for not blowing these scrubs off the floor!!

Calm the F down…

Comment by Dan 72 03.15.07 @ 11:05 pm

typical Pittsburgh

Comment by Rex 03.15.07 @ 11:06 pm

Panthoor-Let’s hope for the sake of my wallet they win by 11.

Pitt shot 54% from the field and 57% from 3s in first half.

Comment by Roman 03.15.07 @ 11:07 pm

Totally agree Carmen. We’ve only been to the line twice the entire first half. Gray has attempted only 4 shots. This team is so undersized Gray, and even Kendall, should be pounding inside every possession. Of course we are hitting a lot of open 3’s so…

Comment by Kevin Yoder 03.15.07 @ 11:07 pm

Yeah the website with the free games is great stuff…we should be able to watch some of the game on t.v since it’s the latest tipoff.

Comment by Panthoor 03.15.07 @ 11:08 pm

Let me get this straight, oue gameplan is to launch three’s while we are way way bigger than the opposing team? and we have an NBA first round pick 7 foot Big East All American Center???? I think Dixon spent too muh time learning how to formulate a game plan with Walt Harris

Comment by Rex 03.15.07 @ 11:10 pm

How many of you filled out only one bracket and chose Pitt to go all the way?

I’m raising my hand…I believe.

Comment by Desmondo 03.15.07 @ 11:11 pm

I didn’t do that, Desmondo, but I did pick GW and Stanford to win, so clearly I’m no expert.

Comment by Carmen 03.15.07 @ 11:14 pm

I filled out multiple brackets…and in all of the brackets, I have pitt beating chuck norris in the final.

Comment by Bushman 03.15.07 @ 11:16 pm

We had a “flip the coin” bracket at work and, I sh** you not, it picked Pitt.

Comment by Jon C 03.15.07 @ 11:17 pm

To be fair, Gray has three guys blanketing him every time he touches the ball. It’s one thing to say Pitt should play to its advantages, particularly the size advantage, but trying to shoot with three guys hanging on you is probably not the best option, even if you have 6 inches on all of them.

And I think Levance was erratic earlier in this game because he’s starting to feel all the DaShaun Wood hype. When Levance plays his game, he’s one of the best point guards in the NCAA, but he doesn’t get the accolades since he’s not a high scorer. Playing against Wood really makes the contrast a lot more evident, but I think Levance will be okay.

Comment by Will 03.15.07 @ 11:17 pm

Rex, I’ve actually been on the Wright State campus. I knew someone that went there.

It’s in Dayton Ohio. Dayton’s about 45 minutes north of Cincy and about an hour west of Columbus.

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.15.07 @ 11:18 pm

I guess it isn’t just Pitt. NC has blown a 26 point lead to Eastern Kentucky and is up only 6.

Comment by Kevin Yoder 03.15.07 @ 11:18 pm

Looking good now that they got over that lull. Second half away.

Comment by Verle 03.15.07 @ 11:21 pm

I think people get up in arms when we hit a rough spot against a bad team because, think about it, a program like Pitt has nothing reputation wise to gain by beating these guys. But we’d look like total pudwhacks if we actually got beat by them!

And, I got tired of waiting, so I clicked back on the Pitt game on CBS March Madness on Demand, and I hear the announcer complaining about his headset, saying he’s tired, and has bags under his eyes. And talking about how they’re going to discuss how Pitt got “out of character” for awhile in the first half.

Getting to hear what goes on during commercials and halftime when they don’t go to commercial is more interesting than some of these blowout games.

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.15.07 @ 11:21 pm

Shit they switched to the UNC - EK game and the Pitt game is blackedout on the internet

Comment by Chris 03.15.07 @ 11:24 pm

Fn CBS just took the Pitt game off so they can show the UNC game….aaaaggghhh!!!!

Comment by Desmondo 03.15.07 @ 11:24 pm

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO they turned the game off..

Comment by schoe 03.15.07 @ 11:25 pm

Anyone konw how to get around the blackout on the internet MMOD?

Comment by Desmondo 03.15.07 @ 11:26 pm

The only good thing about this blackout is that I don’t have to see Levon Kendall suck.

Comment by Bushman 03.15.07 @ 11:27 pm

Hansbrough is a douche bag.

Comment by Desmondo 03.15.07 @ 11:27 pm

How many layups will we miss in this game?

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.15.07 @ 11:28 pm

The CBS MMOD keeps freezing, so I have switched over to Hillgrove and Groat.

I figure CBS will switch over to the Pitt game with about 4 minutes remaining.

Comment by Sean 03.15.07 @ 11:28 pm

Sign up for ncaasports.com and NCAA March Madness on Demand. Free and pretty damn good.

Comment by Dave in Orlando 03.15.07 @ 11:28 pm

Kendall just finished a nice 3 point play. I think he’s playing well tonight.

Comment by Kevin Yoder 03.15.07 @ 11:28 pm

Antonio Graves and Greg Lee must be related because they both drop passes more than any two humans I have ever seen.

Pitt is romping. Bring on VCU. They will present a challenge b/c they are a great pressing team (we struggle against the press) and they shoot 3s well.

Comment by Roman 03.15.07 @ 11:29 pm

I agree. As far as Kendall goes this is a pretty good night. Sam is money though.

Comment by Bushman 03.15.07 @ 11:30 pm

Hey Sean, not sure what browser your using but I had the same problem in firefox and switched to IE and no more freezing…except by Gray…LOL

Comment by Jason in Columbus 03.15.07 @ 11:30 pm

That’s what i like to hear roman…bring on VCU. They’re a bunch of thugs. Sweet sixteen baby!!!

Comment by Bushman 03.15.07 @ 11:31 pm

Watch Wright State’s players getting away with murder inside..holding Pitt’s player’s hands down when the refs aren’t looking so they can get rebounds…refs have yet to call it.

Pitt also better concentrate on catching passes with two hands. How many times have we fumbled them tonight. We won’t get away with that at VCU

Comment by Dan 72 03.15.07 @ 11:32 pm

I like that we’re kicking ass.

I don’t like some of the nonchalant bullshit like that play by Gray, who had an easy lay-up, but tried to make a fancy pass instead.

This won’t cut it against anyone with a pulse.

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.15.07 @ 11:34 pm

Listen. I’m happy we’re winning and all. But all these stupid decisions we’re making when up 22… Yeah, Georgetown didn’t make those last Saturday night. We need a killer instinct. Gray leading the fast break is not it…

Comment by Dave in Orlando 03.15.07 @ 11:35 pm

I’m going to shut up now and just enjoy this game.

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.15.07 @ 11:36 pm

I think it’s my computer more than MMOD. The audio is fine but the video stops, then picks up about 10 seconds later.

Xavier-BYU is going down to the wire. Go Fighting Sean Millers!

Comment by Sean 03.15.07 @ 11:36 pm

Is there such a statistic as fast break conversion percentage. I would have to think ours is among the lowest in Div. 1A. Our players never attack the hoop on the break. Gray was 6 inches from a layup and passed it for christ’s sake!! I know it’s a 19 point lead, but if we are goingn to get anywhere in this tourney, have to convert fast breaks!!

Comment by Carmen 03.15.07 @ 11:37 pm

I haven’t seen anyone mention it lately, but I have to say Graves has really been the most consistent players down the stretch, his defensive really helped Pitt go up on Wright State

Comment by Jason in Columbus 03.15.07 @ 11:39 pm

Sean, I was having that problem earlier today.

It eventually just went away.

For the record, I use IE.

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.15.07 @ 11:42 pm

This is why I need to go out and watch these games. CBS is now on their 3rd game. I want my PITT!!!

Comment by Jeremy 03.15.07 @ 11:43 pm

Jason in Columbus - I agree…to me, he seemed like the only one that showed up in the same capacity and with the same fire each of the three nights in the BET. It was good to see. Especially after being so aggravating through the years.

Comment by Desmondo 03.15.07 @ 11:44 pm

Desmondo, yes a nice change, it was odd to begin liking his play.

Comment by Jason in Columbus 03.15.07 @ 11:46 pm

I’ve heard complaints about MMOD this year from tons of people and I’ve had the same problems myself.

Ramon 4 of 5 on the three pointers tonight.

Comment by Dennis 03.15.07 @ 11:47 pm

anyone else think Gray is hurt?

Comment by Dan 72 03.15.07 @ 11:47 pm

Watching MMOD using Firefox on Linux with a cable broadband connection. Working flawlessly here.

Comment by Dave in Orlando 03.15.07 @ 11:52 pm

Don’t know if Gray is hurt, but he may be sick. He looks particularly pasty and his eyes particularly sunken.

Speaking of more consistent play, Cook has also been a bigger factor. He still disappears for long stretches, though. But Graves clearly has the most fire of anybody on this team. Hopefully it is rubbing off on the others.

Comment by Carmen 03.15.07 @ 11:53 pm

My guess is on his week or two recovering from his ankle injury he lost all his conditioning for the year. And I wouldn’t doubt that by the GTown game his ankle ached.

Comment by Kevin 03.15.07 @ 11:53 pm

Is the Philly area the only place that is getting the CBS “whiparound” screwing right now? I have not seen a second of the 2nd half.

Comment by Jeremy 03.15.07 @ 11:56 pm

Jeremy - I’m in the philly area too…it almost seems that Philly has something against UPitt…they don’t even get appropriate coverage in the Inquirer…total BS!

Comment by Desmondo 03.15.07 @ 11:59 pm

Finally, Pitt is back on tv.

Comment by Desmondo 03.16.07 @ 12:01 am

You know well that Philly is Penn State country for football and the Big Five for hoops. Pittsburgh is some far off wasteland at the other end of the state. My beef is when they announce a game and then don’t actually stick to their own schedule.

Comment by Jeremy 03.16.07 @ 12:02 am

Hey get those reserves in there!!

Comment by Tim Z. 03.16.07 @ 12:04 am

BTW … the Pitt cheerleaders during my years at Pitt (1989 to 1993) were far hotter than they are today. Who could ever forget the “Dance Team” taking to the court at Fitzgerald for the first time in all white spandex body suits!!!

Comment by Jeremy 03.16.07 @ 12:05 am

After that bad spell of careless play Pitt played better. I doubt they can get away with this crap against VCU though. They need one of their 6 turnover games. Better figure out how to break the press. Fun game.

Comment by Kevin Yoder 03.16.07 @ 12:07 am

Rizk gets a free throw…great to see that.

Good win tonight….onwards to VCU

Comment by Tim Z. 03.16.07 @ 12:07 am

Good win…If we focus, we can see another sweet 16. Young and Ramon get ice cream tonight.

Comment by Panthoor 03.16.07 @ 12:08 am

16 turnovers. Need to protect the ball against VCU

Comment by TMGPanther 03.16.07 @ 12:18 am

Nice, Rizk with a point and Doyle Hudson with a nasty block. That’s a pretty nice cap on a solid night. Still anxious about VCU but it’ll at least be nice to be able to watch tomorrow without a cloud over my head.

Comment by Will 03.16.07 @ 12:24 am

VCU big time worry for me. We need to play our game not thiers. We have to set the tempo not them.

Comment by Tony in Harrisburg 03.16.07 @ 12:33 am

What time is the game on Saturday?

Comment by Desmondo 03.16.07 @ 12:46 am

VCU is a good team. Pitt is better. No excuses, take care of business.

Comment by Omar 03.16.07 @ 1:27 am

Game time Saturday: 5:50pm. Butler-Maryland opens up at 3:30 and we’re next.

Comment by baudolino 03.16.07 @ 1:32 am

5.30 pm is listed…about 30 minutes after the first game ends, so i’d say it will actually be 5.50 or 6 pm.

I’m very scared, I watch the first game, they are very fast and very athletic. They press on EVERY SINGLE POSESSION, swipe at the ball, trap….etc. And when their on offense, they are still very quick, penetrating, etc. They don’t have an inside game, but Gray will be a liability on defense, standing like a stick in the mud. And they seem like they never get tired. Had all 5 starters and someone else off the bench score well.

We did learn our lesson from Bradley last year, right? They can’t possibly overlook this game, can they? Anybody want to catch them in the lobby of their hotel and tell them to “REMEMBER BRADLEY”?

Comment by Stuart 03.16.07 @ 1:36 am

their = they’re Fuck you, Grammar.

Comment by Stuart 03.16.07 @ 1:37 am

Jeremy, I noticed the last time I was at the Pete that there are two sets of chicks.

There’s the dancers, which are kind of like the band’s majorettes in high school. They’re subpar.

Then there’s the actual cheerleaders. I was walking down to Forbes to get some food after the game and about four of them happened to be going that way at the same time as me. They were all smoking hot. Nice girls too, dumb as bricks, but nice girls.

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.16.07 @ 1:49 am

By the way, no I did not hit on any of them, my girlfriend was with me!

(….grrrr… stupid girlfriend)

Comment by Jimbo Covert's my dad 03.16.07 @ 1:50 am

Since we’re talking about cheerleaders here - is little Howland still on the dance team for basketball games? That would make a Pitt/UCLA game interesting too.

Comment by Kevin 03.16.07 @ 6:57 am

I am a cheerleader. yea, they are smoking hot, for the most part. Why do you think i’m on the team? Also, Little howland is a cheerleader not a dancer and she is not there this year. she’ll be rooting for her dad for sure. and i wonder which girls you saw, because I wonder which ones are ‘dumb as bricks’

Definately they will have to play their game and protect the ball. Also they need to leave Gray in the middle on D. No need for him to be stepping out against VCU, they are too quick.

Put Graves on their PG, be patient with their press & keep the ball in the middle while making smart clean passes, and work the ball down low. And for goodness sakes, Gray please keep the ball above your head, and drive to the hole and make them foul you!!!
